Bill Faircloth Named Scholarship
Donated by his family and his students
After a career as a pilot, Bill Faircloth was a substitute teacher at New Canaan High School as well as a special education instructional assistant for 15 years. He also tutored students in the Math Center and was committed to helping them learn and succeed, happily sharing his knowledge of math and science.
This scholarship will be preferably given to a student who has overcome challenges while in the special ed program or received assistance and is furthering their academic or professional path.
Bill was a remarkable man with so many talents. We spent many visits together with my husband sharing aviation stores with Bill and with me sharing Special Ed experiences. My husband was a pilot and I am a retired Instructional Paraprofessional from the Ridgefield school system. Bill will be missed and I know that Bill would be happy with this scholarship. He truly cared about his students.
